'빛의 작가' 박현수

박현수 작가의 작품 중 원의 등장은 모든 빛의 형상은 원으로 환원된다는 과학을 기반에 두고 시작되었다. 우리가 흔히 보는 자연 현상 중에 햇빛 내리쬐는 나무 그늘 아래 있다 보면 나뭇잎 사이로 각양각색의 형상들의 빛이 바닥에 떨어지지만 종이를 이용하여 이를 조율하다 보면 다르던 모든 형상은 모두가 원으로 환원되어 지는 것을 볼 수 있다. 사진을 찍을 때도 포커스 아웃을 시키면 원으로 환원되는 것을 볼 수 있다. 즉, 원이라는 것은 다양성을 내포하고 형태이기도 하다. 이러한 실험에서 시작된 원의 형태가 작품이 대형화 되면서 평론가들에게 우주를 표현하는 것으로 읽히고 있다. 이는 또한 색의 구분으로 지구, 닫, 태양 등으로 연상 되기도 한다. 여기에 부유하는 기호들은 인비지블 에너지(Invisible Energy)의 작가적 표현이다. 이 하나하나의 기호 한글, 영어, 독어, 불어, 숫자들은 누군가가 만들어낸 기호이며 이를 소통의 수단으로 쓴다면 작가로서의 시각적인 언어라는 것도 이와 같은 맥락을 하고 있다고 볼 수 있다. 시각적으로 크고 적고 깨지고 이어지며 리듬을 줄 뿐이며 구도 또한 글의 나열과 같다. 이렇게 한 화면에 마치 글자와 같이 파여진 수많은 기호들은 모두 다른 형상을 하고 있지만 한 바닥에서 쪼개져 출발되었으며 만약 한 겹의 물감을 걷어낸다면 다시 하나가 된다. 조각의 상징적 의미는 다양한 인간의 속성일수도 있고 인종일 수도 있고 자연의 모든 것일 수 있다는 것이며 다양하지만 하나라는 메세지도 담고 있다.

Artist of 'Light'

The emergence of circles in Park Hyun-su's work is based on the science that all light shapes are reduced to circles. When we stand under the shade of a tree in the sunlight, we see various shapes of light falling to the ground through the leaves, but if we use paper to coordinate them, we can see that all the different shapes are reduced to circles. In other words, the circle implies diversity and is also a form. The circle form that began in these experiments has been read by critics as a representation of the universe as the work has grown larger. It is also associated with the earth, moon, sun, etc. through the division of colors. The symbols floating here are the artist's expression of Invisible Energy. Each of these symbols, Korean, English, German, French, and numbers, were created by someone, and if we use them as a means of communication, we can say that the visual language of the artist is in the same vein. Visually, it is big and small, broken and connected, giving a rhythm, and the composition is also like a list of words. The numerous symbols dug like letters on the screen all have different shapes, but they all started from the same ground, and if you remove a layer of paint, they become one again. The symbolic meaning of the sculpture is that it can be various human attributes, races, and everything in nature, and it also contains a message of diversity but unity.
